Jef Meijvis joined dotNET Lab just a few years ago. Armed with a degree in industrial engineering and initial international work experience, he was ready for the consultancy journey in Belgium. Opportunities were abundant for the promising IT professional, but it was our personal touch that sealed the deal for him.
``I have many friends who are consultants. Their common thread? They all lack connection with their employer and only have close contact with their project colleagues. Currently, Jef is giving his best at Atlas Copco. He is overseeing the transition of their existing business application to Microsoft Azure. He does this not only as a consultant fully immersed in the project but also as their interim advisor. Because not so long ago, Jef advanced to become a Microsoft Certified Trainer, following a hands-on training trajectory. He is now authorized, with Microsoft’s approval, to conduct trainings at dotNET Lab and for our clients.
“Soon after I joined dotNET Lab, Ive suggested that I specialize in Azure. Microsoft doesn’t just hand out its certifications... Quite the opposite! A series of online courses and a successful exam are mandatory. Today, I proudly hold the title of Microsoft Certified Trainer and guide employees at Atlas Copco. To me, a project is successful if it continues to run smoothly even after my departure. So, I pull out all the stops to thoroughly brief Atlas Copco on the importance of things like backups and security.”

``It's impossible for colleagues to always be aware of everything. That's why dotNET Lab introduced the concept of domain experts. It's a smart and efficient strategy to keep our internal IT knowledge up-to-date and maximize our time efficiency. I am the domain expert for Azure, while colleague Tim is the point of contact for Microsoft front-end design, and colleague Vincent keeps a close eye on development trends. Part of our job is to keep a finger on the pulse of our domain. Recently, I leveraged my two skills, Microsoft Certified Trainer and Azure, during a 3-day internal training session. It was wonderful to share my knowledge with the team. I'm looking forward to what the future holds. The sky is the limit!``
